About the Book
Based off of the original book “The Bean Story”, and Phoenix from Liam’s Mission this activity book was created for children and the caring adults who sit beside them. You matter just as much as the activity. These pages are meant to be shared together. Opening the conversation between you and the child you are caring for. It also is a place for pause, and reflection. There is a lot going on for kids and this is a safe place to land, especially when things and feelings are hard to express.
It isn’t JUST a colouring book. It’s a tiny garden for brave little ones to grow. It speaks to the whole child… Body, Heart, Mind and Imagination.
It blends creativity and mindfulness. It’s playful, and it’s purposeful. It was created with care for diverse experiences and is intended to meet kids where they are. It encourages self-discovery and exploration. This activity book isn’t about staying inside the lines.
About the Big Feelings, Brave Moments Creative Kit
The Big Feeling, Brave Moments Creative Kit project was created as more than a mere activity book, rather an experience to support children during health challenges and hospital stays.
The heart of the project is simple: it is a ready to use activity package where each creative kit includes both; The Bean Story and the My Bean Story – A creative adventure with Phoenix & Bean, and simple supplies needed to begin right away.
We wanted to create an experience for kids and their families more than merely sharing the activity book. This kit provides creative activities, gentle ways to reflect and express feelings, mindfulness, building confidence and connection to both themselves and the caregivers/supports around them.
The goal is to create and deliver 100 complete Creative Kits packages to children in Canadian hospitals.
This is just the beginning.
